Head / British Museum

This exhibition was organised whilst I was  doing MA printmaking at UAL london in 2011 for the British Museum. I created a room that referenced the art of the portrait silhouette. I wanted to created an antiquated version of a photo booth at a fair – an antithesis of a selfie. People had to queue up and enter the darkened room which was lit with candle type light – They could only hear the artist not see them as they were behind the sitter. The head of the sitter was placed side on against a panel of glass and the artists could see through special black paper to draw the life size profile of the person. These were then cut by a troop of artists in the museum.
